Love Like This

In case you missed it on David's blog, I had to share with you an expression of love that I received from him on Valentine's Day. David put together this Shutterfly photo book titled "What I Love About You". It is 54 pages long with 216 photographs of the two of us, our families and friends, taken during our courtship over the last 17 months.
This picture is included in the book. It was taken on the first weekend that we expressed our love for each other with those 3 words, "I love you".

David touches my heart when he shares these words in the book (shared with his permission):

"If I could have custom ordered a woman with all the wonderful attributes I could have ever imagined, she still couldn't hold a candle to what I've found in you. Yes, you are everything I ever wanted, but so much more. You are also everything I didn't even know to ask for! That just goes to show you...God is way smarter than I am! It's as if God said, "David, I already know what you THINK you want. But, trust me, I have something so much better planned for you! Just wait until you see! You will be amazed!" And I am! And I'm so very proud to be the man you love!"

Never in my entire life have I been loved like this, nor have I loved like this. I have known familial love. Christian love. Friendship love. But, never, ever, have I known this kind of love. I am blessed.
I met David when I was 40 years old. To be cherished in such a big way, at this age, seems so miraculous! But, I guess, as David said, God had a plan. I just had to age before He was ready to reveal the plan, and David, to me!

The book? Amazing. The love? More than I could have ever known possible.

After my mother read the book, with tears in her eyes, she handed it back to me and said "Don't you ever, EVER (and I thought she was going to say don't mess up the book...but, instead she finished with) do ANYTHING to hurt that man!"

See? Even she knows what a precious blessing that God has given to me.

Back to junking tomorrow. But, love is GRAND, and I just had to share.

Happy Monday!
~Mindy

  7. That was so sweet. One of my favorite songs(and if Cat Daddy and I ever renew our vows, will be played) is by Colin Raye. I think the lyrics apply to you two as well..."That was a river, this is an ocean." Debbie

  12. This is my first peek at your blog, and all I have to say after reading your post is this, "does David have a brother"? Good for you in finding what has to be your soulmate!

  17. That is so sweet, I can't even think of the words to describe how sweet it is. To be cherished is truly a gift. Ephesians tells women to submit, but then it goes on to tell men to Love (As Christ loves the Church). It looks like you've found someone who truly loves you. I agree with your Mother.

  18. Thank you everyone for your sweet words.

For the record. I do not have a habit of hurting the people I love. Mom was being funny and was giving her endorsement to my choice of David. I don't intend to hurt him, blow it, mess this up, or anything else.

I wish I could blog every single page of the book. It's just wonderful! I know. We did not invent love. But, we are enjoying it because THIS love is so brand new and beautiful to each of us. This fresh feeling at this age is youth-i-fying! *smile*
