Junk Pumpkins and Decorations

Believe it or not, somewhere between getting The Primitique ready for a Grand Opening this weekend and life, I recently celebrated a birthday and hosted The 5th Annual Pumpkinfest at my house.

We again enjoyed making Junk Pumpkins. Wanna see?

I provided bins of "junk" and the creating began.

Have you decorated for Halloween?

In the midst of utter chaos the last few weeks, I just didn't have time to get the regular decorations out. Instead, to decorate I used random items laying around my house.

Seriously.

Joy's teeth
This old urn happens to have my initial on it. I just scattered Grandma Joy's teeth around and it added one eerie element, don't you think?

My teeth
A bottle of teeth is creepy, isn't it? Yes. The Tooth Fairy saved all my teeth.

She can't say boo
I think this old, broken mannequin face is a little spooky.

And a well placed mannequin hand even gives this fella the heebie jeebies!

So, I know. Not your traditional Halloween decorations. But, they work!

Happy Monday!

I'm Telling

I must be absolutely crazy.

As The Primitique gets closer to opening, I find myself wanting to share.

Generally, I show a picture and leave you to guess.

Not today!

Youth bed
I'm telling.
This white chippy divine piece? It's an old metal youth bed headboard.
Chair
This green fabric and button? A fabulous green chair. I have its twin, too.
Desk

Are you having fun?

These drawers belong to an old, metal child's desk. Stool

Green Stool.

Stool

Rusty Stool.

Stool

Red Stool.

We are looking forward to opening Saturday, October 30, 10-5.

Do you think details such as lighting, electricity, walls and doors are necessary for us to have a good time? I hope not! EEEEK!

I'm kidding! (maybe)

Playing with Dolls

It's true. I have nothing else to do than play with dolls.
I played at Winnie & Tulula's last week, whilst waiting for The Primitique to be built.
Trips

The doll heads just watched while the arms and legs laid around.Wagon o' Parts

Don't forget, there is plenty of great shopping to be done in Athens at Winnie & Tulula's.

If you drop in, I'll let you play with my dolls! *smile*

Grab a Pen

Bags and Clock
Pack your bags.
Set your clock.
The Primitique
Soon opens shop.

No need to pencil this date in.
Go ahead, you can use a pen.

The O'fficial Grand Opening has been set in stone. The Primitique will celebrate its Grand Opening Saturday, October 30 from 10 am to 5 pm. (Can you hear me giggling from there?)

Eagle Hardware Farm & Ranch (with whom we are joining forces) will be Thinking Pink that day. In addition to donating a portion of October sales to Breast Cancer Research, we are enjoying a "Living in Pink Country" event on Saturday, October 30th, from 10 AM to 2 PM. We'll have games, pink cotton candy, cookies and photo opportunities with an antique "pink" tractor!

Did somebody say PINK TRACTOR? The fun Pink Festivities will end at 2, but we'll be around til 5 or so.

OHHH! And guess what! We have added another event to The Primitique calendar.

Is your pen still in hand?

Saturday, November 13 from 10 am to 5 pm, you are cordially invited to "Christmas at The P." We'll have our Christmas decorations up for your buying pleasure. Sounds fun, doesn't it?

Need directions? Click here. We're at 4757 Hwy 276 W., Royse City, Texas.

You very likely won't be able to shut me up about all this. But, if you would like to spread the news, we would be ever so grateful! Nab pictures. Steal stories. Link to The Primitique Website. Whatever you would like to do, I can tell you, we would so much appreciate it! Hugs from us to you!

And by golly, we sure hope to see you soon at The P!

Happy Weekend!

Pickin' and Grinnin'

When a friend called and invited me to come pick through the storage shed of a house he had bought, I did a happy dance. You know that feeling, don't ya? Then he warned me that the shed was filled with a bunch of old stuff, like geriatric walkers and potty chairs. huh.
Groove-a-licious
Indeed, I had to shove some walkers outta the way, but would you check out this shag-a-licious chair? (do you see the cots? Love 'em!)
Green & Groovy!
How bout this green groove-a-licous fixture? (See the orange fabric? I think my favorite redneck is going to snag all of that.)
Man patterns
Speaking of Robelyn, fashionista extraordinaire, do any fellas out there need a custom made leisure suit? I bet Robelyn could put a red.neck chic twist on those fine jackets!

I have a confession to make:
Shag Chair
There was more than one Shag Chair. I really, really love this crazy look!
2010October4_Finds2
Next time someone warns you about walkers and potty chairs, don't get scared. You might come home with a truckload like I did! (Picture me with a toothy grin about right now. he he he)

Happy Wednesday!

Jubilance and Giddiness

2010August13_progress 004
Perhaps you have seen this picture of The Primitique's new home at Eagle Hardware Farm & Ranch in Royse City, Texas.
Welcome! Front door
And then, this happened on that concrete pad.
Roof!
I'll be darned if it's not starting to shape up. But, wait. There's more!
Workin' it!
A real live roof. My heart is starting to go pitter patter. The Primitique is going to be inside this place! Nah. I'm not taking all 1500 sq feet just yet.
Look!
Seriously. Look. Windows! I'm told we'll have front doors tomorrow. Everyone told me it would fly up once they got started. Indeed! Every day is like Christmas at 4757 Highway 276 West
Royse City, TX, 75189
.

It will be one stop shopping where you can buy Vintage Quirky Goodness for you and your home, plumbing supplies, deer corn, hay, fencing, tractors, paint, tools, feed, and other amazing wonderfulness. Next door, you will soon be able to enjoy a scrumptious meal at Richard's Smokehouse. I'm so excited I almost can't stand it.

When will the building be completed and when will The Primitique open? Well, I dunno. And while this post might have ended beautifully with that knowledge, I don't have it. But, I also couldn't stand waiting any longer to share my Jubilance! Giddiness! Excitement!

Ok. I'll give you a pencil date. Don't use ink. But, pencil us in for a Grand Opening Saturday, October 30. More details will come when it's an ink date. k? (Butterflies!)

And now, I probably need to go shopping.

Happy Tuesday!

Confession

It was weird. The whole Zapp prep thing. Remember? I didn't shop much. The Bulldog trailer was already loaded for The Primitique store, which hadn't been built yet. I was in a bit of a prep funk, but there was nothing to do other than get there and make things happen.

With the help of Robelyn's red.neck Chic goodies and David's designing expertise, we put it all together and check out what we got:

front table
rnc clutch
rnc represents
Harvest Table grouping
David Smiles
Thank you David for your hard work and tireless resetting!
Robelyn
Thank you Robelyn, for having the vision, and for sharing your mad skills and fashionista brains and braun with us!

A big thanks to all of you who came by! I enjoyed meeting new folks and rubbing elbows with old pals. Be sure to check in on David's flickr page. He'll be uploading more photos soon.

In the end, I have no idea what I was fretting. It was a great show and I was surrounded by great people. Might I add, I'm ready to go back already! (But, let me do a little shopping first.)

Happy Monday!
