Good Day of Shopping

As you might recall, I mentioned that my friend, Mayron, and I were going to spend Saturday together. Shopping, driving, laughing and bonding.
We started out visiting Jo Harmon at Hunt County Trade Center. I picked up a few things there and enjoyed a short visit with Jo.

Then Mayron and I headed for Malakoff where we visited Donna at Curious Goods. Dang! She has a wonderful place put together with some kick booty merchandise, mannequin and aquarium included. You know I couldn't walk away empty handed.

If you haven't figured it out yet, I like things that are blatantly imperfect. Check out her funky eyes!

I'm a sucker for garage sales and since I was driving, it was a quick turn off the main road to snatch up some bargains. Look! A Collins purse. I tried ebay and google to price this. No luck. Margo recently blogged about these beauties. Click here for what she had to say.

Two Collins purses, the film reel, a long chain, a cloth head, and that big frame. A nice haul, eh?

Oh! The lawyers cabinet piece up top? A wonderful find at Junk Palace. I didn't get to meet Lillie, but her daughter was a great help to us!

And on our way back, we stopped off in Canton and paid a visit to LaurieAnna's. LaurieAnna was snowed under with shoppers. What a wonderful, delightful situation! She has big plans for a show in February. Be sure to check out her blog for info. I picked up a few things there, but didn't manage to take pics of them. Sorry!

Thanks for the garage sale responses. My trip to Warrenton/Round Top is going to be good because of y'alls help!

Happy Day.

  4. I might be interested in those Collins purses. Surprised you couldn't find anything out on Ebay. I can tell you they are from when after Tandy purchased the company. Maybe we could combine shipping with my weather vain if the price is right.

  6. Girl, as much as I hate to admit it...Collins of Texas handbags are from my teen years. You were just not cool without one. Only one shop in McKinney at that time carried them and she stayed backordered all the time. What a trip down memory lane. Jenn has some she has collected because of me. They are little works of art. 8. Isn't it great to find fabulous stuff? It looks like you had a fun little trip today. Sandy and I spent the day in Alamenda across from San Francisco. The Bay hit the 70's; it was a great show. If you ever make out to Northern California, please come visit our shop. We'll take you on a little tour of great finds. ps: Love the e.c. bags and blue garden rack.

  15. Lisa, I didn't have to think much about what to do with the frame. It sold already!

Debbie, I remember my grandmother's butterfly, Collins purse. Quite the bling for a country woman!

Theresa, I am honored that you eyeballed the same stuff! The cabinet is at my house, waiting for me to find it's new home. The mannequin? At Primitiques.
