Who's my Daddy?

My Dad is a junker. He has been a garage sale shopper, curbside junk picker-upper, auction goer, go-to junk guy, eBay seller for years and years. He happens to be my favorite picker. I get a lot of goodies for Primitiques from Dad's garage and pickup truck.

The other day I stopped by my folks' house and spied this beauty in the garage. I knew Dad would have aspirations for it...an eBay auction or a live auction in town. He'd have plans alright. But, when I hit my knees and started begging with tears in my eyes, he said "yes". Yes! YES! He told me I could have it for my birthday, which is a full 8 months away!

Thanks, Dad!

I promise to post pics when it is up on a wall in my house. Isn't it magnificent? In case you can't tell, it is about 2 feet high. It's humongous! Wonderful! I don't know if it works. Don't care. Love it! Here's one in working condition. I actually prefer it all white.

Happy Monday!

  8. I think you should plug it in. Knowing your mom's knack for fixing things, it could be working by your birthday even if it's not now!

  12. I'm a lover of clocks too. It will look great in your home I'm sure. If it doesn't work, set the hands at 2:10 and it will look like it's smiling. It will be right 2 times every day.
    Great find.

  18. I get my junkin' genes from my Dad. He use to pull into the driveway with his old pickup loaded down with boxes & I would get that same feeling I get now going to an auction. The only difference is now I have to pay -- bummer. Jan
