Heavy

I'm not sure why, but everything I'm liking these days is heavy. You saw yesterday's monstrous piece. Big and heavy. This beauty is heavy, too.
I love her grace.
Her curves are downright, well, curvy!
And she's tall. Add to that, she is tubed for a fountain. I had a difficult time not keeping her. She's so perfect! Did I mention heavy?
These planters are amazing. And heavy! I can't swear to how heavy they are. But, I've heard David swear when he picks them up, if that counts!

Do you like heavy stuff? Tell me your heavy story.

Let's just see how much luck I have finding light stuff this weekend.

Happy Friday!

  1. Girl, you know I am drawn to big and heavy like a moth to a flame. I keep trying not to buy anything heavier than what two women can carry...but old habits are hard to break. I mean take a look at me and C.D....I love big and heavy!

  2. Hi Mindy , Oh I love Heavy! Just ask Joe. But with respect to his back ( and the fact that his paycheck is what keeps a roof over our head ) if he I can't lift it I pass on on it. Three weeks ago we were at an auction that had the largest , most beautiful concrete urn. It was almost 4 feet tall and wide - I kid you not! There was no way we could move that baby around so I sat on my hands and did not bid. It sold for $40.00. Yep , that's it! I stuck my lip out and went home. LOL! A friend bought it but I've yet to hear the story of how she got it home. I love the lady fountain. Sue

  3. It's really beautiful! This is my favorite angle. Did you really hear me swear?

  4. David, you know my hearing isn't good. I just assumed you were swearing. Maybe you were talking about how much you love me and I misunderstood. ~Mindy

  5. Debbie, true. Everything in your space is huge and heavy! ha!

Sue, I would have had the most difficult time sitting on my hands! You have great self-control. I bet your friend is tickled pink.

  9. Theresa, I'm sure if Cruz had been with you, he would have picked it up for his sweetie! I have learned to drag a 2 wheeler with me everywhere I go. Just in case David isn't around. ~Mindy

  10. Maureen, that is what I'm talking about! Something SO heavy, you refuse to move it again. I hope it sells before you have to donate it. ~Mindy

  12. Lori, I think she would be too big for a carryon. But, UPS does deliver! ~Mindy

  14. Shoot, Erin. I didn't see it coming. And now I'm wiping slushy off my screen. Yes, I like you more now, because I know you are making an effort at being heavier. And I'm still enjoying belly laughs! Thank you. ~Mindy

  15. I was coerced by a booth partner to move a large 7ft. antique cabinet not long ago,(that I purchased from her because it was in my side of the booth) (?) because she wanted it gone. My husband and son-in-law had to load it on a hand dolly. I prayed all the way through the antique mall. The transmission went out on our Tahoe and we had to buy a new suv. Needless to say we are no longer booth partners.live and learn. I DO still have a husband.

  16. Great statues, but that urn is fantastic, Mindy!

  17. Gorgeous stuff Mindy. I love heavy if it is going to my house and staying. The only super heavy things I have were from my Mother-in-laws house. Concrete planters and a Blessed Virgin statue that reside in my yard and have only been moved once.

  18. Usually when I am out of town, No matter where I am I always gravitate towards the heaviest, most gorgeous objects cuz they just feel SO GOOD. Then it is too heavy to put in my checked luggage, but, guess what? No weight restrictions for carry on luggage! So now I (or my poor DH) am lugging the thing through security and on to an airplane (and he is so embarrassed). My life will be complete when I actually break an "overhead compartment" with a peace of lovely concrete or iron.

  19. The urn is fabulous! The statues are great too! Who cares if they are heavy, maybe you will get to keep them! I too had a 72 Ford Pinto, but mine was a wagon with fake "woody" decals! Angie

  20. The only thing that I have that's heavy is my bottom and I'd rather not talk about it.

That is a great fountain you've got there. I'm not sure I'd be able to part with all these wonderful things you have. I also love the gate behind the female fountain. Poor David. He's going to need a chiropracter.

  21. I used to garage sale with my best friend...if it was heavy, odd shaped, or really, really big she wanted it!!!! Now I know better. She is on her own.

  22. I've been in this business for 17 years now, and when you see something that you just fall in love with. . . it's this sickness we all have, you can't say NO! Did you ever notice how many of us usually have a few aches and pains daily, usually in our backs? Awesome finds!

  23. I thought I was going to die toting a pair of cement urns across a wide backyard and up a looong driveway. I swore off cement after that. But...well, you know...A friend of mine who shares my good taste in chippy statues recently had surgery and can't lift...I love her dearly, but don't think I haven't taken full advantage of the situation;) --Kristi
