I love her grace.
Her curves are downright, well, curvy!
And she's tall. Add to that, she is tubed for a fountain. I had a difficult time not keeping her. She's so perfect! Did I mention heavy?
These planters are amazing. And heavy! I can't swear to how heavy they are. But, I've heard David swear when he picks them up, if that counts!Do you like heavy stuff? Tell me your heavy story.
Let's just see how much luck I have finding light stuff this weekend.

Girl, you know I am drawn to big and heavy like a moth to a flame. I keep trying not to buy anything heavier than what two women can carry...but old habits are hard to break. I mean take a look at me and C.D....I love big and heavy!

Hi Mindy , Oh I love Heavy! Just ask Joe. But with respect to his back ( and the fact that his paycheck is what keeps a roof over our head ) if he I can't lift it I pass on on it. Three weeks ago we were at an auction that had the largest , most beautiful concrete urn. It was almost 4 feet tall and wide - I kid you not! There was no way we could move that baby around so I sat on my hands and did not bid. It sold for $40.00. Yep , that's it! I stuck my lip out and went home. LOL! A friend bought it but I've yet to hear the story of how she got it home. I love the lady fountain. Sue

ReplyDeleteI saw that concrete foutain lady at Jo's and had a really hard time passing her up, but I did because she was just too heavy. Glad you got her, she was really cool!
ReplyDeleteI have a huge and heavy triple seahorse fountain on the patio at Cottage Panache and I SWEAR...that if it doesn't sell while I am still alive and kicking at this location...I will have to will it to the Landlord!!! Not Kidding...because my HD has already informed me of that!!!LOL

ReplyDeleteI was coerced by a booth partner to move a large 7ft. antique cabinet not long ago,(that I purchased from her because it was in my side of the booth) (?) because she wanted it gone. My husband and son-in-law had to load it on a hand dolly. I prayed all the way through the antique mall. The transmission went out on our Tahoe and we had to buy a new suv. Needless to say we are no longer booth partners.live and learn. I DO still have a husband.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous stuff Mindy. I love heavy if it is going to my house and staying. The only super heavy things I have were from my Mother-in-laws house. Concrete planters and a Blessed Virgin statue that reside in my yard and have only been moved once.
ReplyDeleteUsually when I am out of town, No matter where I am I always gravitate towards the heaviest, most gorgeous objects cuz they just feel SO GOOD. Then it is too heavy to put in my checked luggage, but, guess what? No weight restrictions for carry on luggage! So now I (or my poor DH) am lugging the thing through security and on to an airplane (and he is so embarrassed). My life will be complete when I actually break an "overhead compartment" with a peace of lovely concrete or iron.

The urn is fabulous! The statues are great too! Who cares if they are heavy, maybe you will get to keep them! I too had a 72 Ford Pinto, but mine was a wagon with fake "woody" decals! Angie

I used to garage sale with my best friend...if it was heavy, odd shaped, or really, really big she wanted it!!!! Now I know better. She is on her own.

I thought I was going to die toting a pair of cement urns across a wide backyard and up a looong driveway. I swore off cement after that. But...well, you know...A friend of mine who shares my good taste in chippy statues recently had surgery and can't lift...I love her dearly, but don't think I haven't taken full advantage of the situation;) --Kristi
