Change

Whew! Been there, done that. This needs to go. I'm not sure what's next. But, here's the before. I'll post the after, after inspiration.

Check yesterday's post for the before. Here's the after. It could use a little polishing, but, I like it better. Maybe cover the back in black velvet or something? hmmm What do you think? And this little travel case, I bought in Sulpher Springs Friday. It's perfect in my guest bath!
Any changes going on in your house this weekend?

Happy Sunday.

  1. Love your towel holder. Id probably wipe my hands on my jeans so I wouldn't mess it up, it's so cute! Absolutely can't stand the teeth!!!

What about putting old book pages on the back of your display shelf? Remember how Renee did it to her bookcase she sold up in Waco? That was music, I believe, but anything old would look great.

Getting ready for my garage sale next Sat. You and Snakeman coming down for the Junk Gypsy's sale? Let me know if you need a place to stay.

  2. It's all gorgeous! Is the board behind the shelf attached? If not, what if you just let the wall color show through? Great travel case! Looks good with granddad's teeth!

I have a few changes at my house that will be posted soon...hopefully, this week!

  3. I like the change! How about painting the board on the back a lighter color? I recently saw a post on The Lettered Cottage that showed a really great before and after using a Ryegrass (green) Behr Paint. I think your cool stuff would just pop like hers did!

Love the cute case with the varying shades of green cloths. So sweet!

  4. Hmmm... maybe you could cover the back of each square with a different wallpaper? We sometimes have wallpaper sample books that are discontinued. Typically, each sheet is larger than one of those cubbies. Might give the piece sort of a quilt pattern look.

  5. Holy cow. I don't recall ever getting so many good ideas all at once! I am going to have to empty the piece to see how the back is attached. While it would be easy to just tack some pre-cut music in there, it might be nicer to layer book pages or music, or wallpaper and then put the back board back on. Painting is an option. hmmm...I do think the back board is a structural piece, so probably can't go without it. I can't wait to try some of these ideas out! Thanks, y'all! ~Mindy
