Ideas?

Pink Hat Rack
I bought this coat rack a few years ago knowing that the funky pink would be a neat addition to my house. It has been a great resting spot for many of my hats. Currently, it is on my front porch, available for guests to put things on when they come inside. Rain coats, hats, umbrellas.

But, alas. Like many other "cool" things I have, I have grown weary of it. Any non-traditional ideas for this piece? Get your creative wheels turning and clue me in. It is probably on it's way to Primitiques. Maybe I can display it with your suggestion?!

Happy Tuesday!

  1. This would be a major repurpose, but what about making it into a lamp base. Happy Junking! jojo

  4. Ooooh, I love that. Mindy! I see hanging baskets of plants (different heights). Or you could hang glass votives, or jars with candles using wire. If you were a crafter, I would see ribbons and laces hanging from it. But I also think it would fabulous for, say, my crinoline collection, for display - that would be a lot of fun!

  5. Well, my first idea was to make it into a uber cool piece of lighting...but someone beat me to it! It would be a great display for items that have to hang...like signs or Christmas ornaments, etc. Could you somehow attach votive candle holders on the end of each arm to create a candlier?

  6. What about hanging jars with candles in them from wire at different heights for a great garden chandy. It would also display aprons well, or quilts. Oops I just saw Zita already suggested the candles--oh well, that is two votes for that idea Ü!

  8. It would be the mother of all hummingbird feeder stations! Or you could mix it up with some hanging seed feeders and some suet cakes. You could even put a terra cotta saucer on top as a tray feeder or even a bird bath. Your feathered friends would love you for it! (But the squirrels might too!)

  12. I love the ideas people have given you...and I'd mix jar candles AND hummingbird feeders on there so it could be used day AND night. Being a quilter, I would use it to hang strips of fabric when making a quilt with them. It would be a big help when sorting them by color and / or size.

  13. I would paint it green, plant it in my garden and make a trellis out of it. Twist wire around each one and anchor it to the ground. Would be beautiful with an Clematis or climbing roses, even climbing beans.

  14. If you hung those glass jars, in different lengths, amongst the hangers...some with flowers...some with sand in the bottom and votives- brought it outside....made some morning glories climb it- MAN - too cute!
