How hot is it in Poetry, Texas?

It's so hot that if you leave a 12 pack of Sprite in your car with the windows up from Friday to Monday, 11 out of 12 cans will explode.

While I wait for the beams to come up at The Primitique, I think I'll scrub down the suv. Look! It even poured itself out the doors!2010July19_Sprite Explosion in Texas 001

Talk about a sticky mess. I've got it!

Happy Monday! ~Mindy

  6. I have done that--in the freezing cold--not quite so messy when it is frozen though. I haven't heard of them exploding because of heat--bummer!

  8. It will take weeks or money and professional help to clean this all up. Wet paper towels and palmolive barely put a dent in the arm rest and the driver's side door. The 12 pack was on the back left seat.

Debbie, when I pop a top, I prefer to injest the liquid refreshment. haha

  10. Yuck! I've never had a can of soda explode in the heat. I guess I shouldn't be complaining about how hot it's been here. Sorry you had a mess to clean up.

  12. Vinegar? That's what I've always been told to use to clean up soda.

    So sorry!

  13. Mindy, the best thing to clean up pop, is a 1/4 cup powder cascade, 1/2 cup vinegar and 2 cups warm water, soak the area and rinse well with clear water. The cascade breaks down the enzymes in food and doesn't foam up like regular soap. Works great on carpet too...

  15. Why do I keep hearing:

    "Pop a top again
I just got time for one more round
    Sit em up my friends"...

over and over and over again in my head...
sticky situation mindy - real sticky.

  18. That happened to me this week with a Diet Coke. It's on the roof, the windows, and the back of the wagon. Ugh.
