I always loved it when I was a kid and they got those out, I guess they once you 'grow up' you know your size. I think that is fabulous, I will be on a quest to find one one day! Mindy, I agree with Frippery and Talking Trash about layering more mirrors and adding some gauzy lace or something around the mirror perhaps or on the shelf. Add a little more white, creams, silver, stay away from the black. Too Halloweeny! I know you'll come up with something evenually, when it hits you you'll be like "OMG that's perfect". He had worked in a shoe store in his teens and would take the measuring device away from the salesperson and do it for us instead. Then I would get a new pair of pointy toed Keds ---red were my favorite. I also remember some fine Buster Browns. Thanks for the memory and BTW--the display looks great!Becky@Beyond The Picket Fencehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01703689071243759492noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7831748294655796355.post-47752260528154644772009-01-28T21:48:00.000-06:002009-01-28T21:48:00.000-06:00That shelf is great! Look around and bring in some more silver, got any more frameless mirrors, layer those in the back, attach the watch to the bowtie and prop on the rusty dooie in front of the white vase. Needs some lighting reflected in the mirror and maybe be just a bit of scrim under it all to soften. Just suggestions.
